Bill Murray is annoyed. He can’t recall the name of the cinematographer who worked on his upcoming film, Passion Play. “He’s Irish, but he’s from Australia and he lives in China,” says the 59-year-old, Oscar-nominated actor, knitting his brow in thought. “I talk about him all the time. For some reason I remembered today that I still had this shot from our trip to Rome in my library that I wanted to share. This was around 9pm and we were on our way back to the hotel after enjoying the evening sun at the Spanish Steps.
The little dog was pretty scared of the escalator that led to this platform, so his owner (the guy leaning against the wall) carried him. This cute sight delighted everyone around. There were only a few people taking this metro and it was a calm and friendly mood down there that I wanted to capture.
Wofür sind eigentlich diese Tafeln gedacht?
Links und rechts von Präsident Obama sieht man auf diesem Foto zwei auf Teleskopständern montierte, graue Tafeln. Welchem Zweck dienen die, hab ich mich gefragt.
Wird darauf der Text seiner Rede projiziert? Telepromptertafeln also? … Wohl eher nicht, das könnte man anders lösen.
Dienen sie als neutrale Grautafeln für den Weißabgleich bei Portraitfotos? … Nee, man würde wohl kaum das Foto so entstellen, nur um den Weißabgleich im Nachhinein zu justieren, auch das geht einfacher.
Vielleicht haben die Tafeln auf der ihm zugewandten Seite eine reflektierende Beschichtung und dienen der besseren Ausleuchtung!? … So’n Quatsch, er steht doch voll im Scheinwerferlicht, da würden Reflektortafeln nichts ausrichten. Außerdem sind sie zu weit nach unten geneigt.
À propos Neigung – ha, ich hab’s! Vielleicht sind sie genau so ausgerichtet, dass sie die Mikrofone abschirmen, so dass keine akustische Rückkopplung entsteht!?
Kann das womöglich der Grund sein?

As an early retiree after a successful career in software engineering Hyun Su (59) from San Francisco enjoys traveling and taking pictures with his digital medium format camera. Shooting the famous Pantheon here he’s using an Apo-Sironar Digital 35mm f/4.5 lens with a Leaf Aptus 22 digital back.
